Craftsmanship

Made by hand, set in place.

If you want the best, you get the best people. Sometimes when a group of craftspeople comes together, the combined result exceeds anyone’s expectations — that’s the standard The Seymour was held to.

The Collective

Five disciplines, one building.

Each artisan below worked a single material to its limit — stone, wood, terrazzo and textile — so that no two surfaces in The Seymour feel mass-produced.

Allen Sedaka, terrazzo flooring craftsman

Allen Sedaka

Terrazzo Flooring

Allen’s terrazzo is poured and ground on site, course by course, so every floor reads as one continuous surface rather than a tiled approximation.

George Dimitrios, millwork craftsman

George Dimitrios

Millwork

George builds the cabinetry and built-ins that give each residence its quiet, custom-fit feel — nothing off the shelf, everything scribed to the room.

Lauren Rottet, apartment interior designer

Lauren Rottet

Apartment Interior Design

Lauren and Rottet Studio set the material language of the residences — the pairing of warm oak, honed marble, and brass that carries through every floor.

Peter McGinley, amenities architect

Peter McGinley

Amenities Architecture

Peter shaped the building’s shared spaces — lobby, courtyard, and amenity floor — to feel as considered as the residences themselves.

Nathan S. Tawil, stonework craftsman

Nathan S. Tawil

Stonework

Nathan selects and sets the Bianco Dolomiti marble used throughout the baths and kitchens, matching veining by hand across every slab.
